Class I, but are appointed to the class.

If they were definicely appointed to the posts,

senior Cadets in Class II, when appointed to

act for them, would draw acting pay on the

basis of Col. Reg. 54.

I cannot understand Mr. Gent's objection

that the privilege is not shared by officers

in other departments. If it were desired to

appoint a Police Officer to act as Inspector

General of Police, he would not be appointed

to act in Class I of the Cadet Service, but

would be definitely appointed as Acting

Inspector General of Police, and, as such, would

draw acting pay in
